Clyda Rovers 1-7 Millstreet 1-8
Clyda U21 footballers had a good work out last Sunday in the Glenville u21 Tournament when we played Millstreet in
Mourneabbey. Clyda started the brighter of the two teamsand took a 2 point lead with two great scores from Conor Flanagan.
Millstreet then struck for a goal. Clyda replied with two further points from Cian O' sullivan and Conor Flanagan. Millstreet
despite great defending from Chris O' Connell and Donal O' Callaghan went ahead by two points as half time approached. Clyda
rallied for the next five minutes where they scored 1-2 without reply the goal coming from a great move which started in the
full back line and eventually fell to Mike Linihan to score from close rang the two points were scored by Cian O' Sullivan
and Sean O' Connell which left clyda leading at the break on a scoreline of 1-6 to 1-5. The second half was a dour affair
with scores hard to come by, Millstreet faired the better scoring 3points to clyda's 1 a free from Cian O' Sullivan. Clyda
pushed hard for an equalising score but just came up short, the final score was Clyda 1-7 Millstreet 1-8. TEAM- E. Meaney
